Successful candidate will lead and manage process development effort for the packaging process of thermal imagers and detectors products and solutions. As part of an innovative R&D culture, participate in developing patentable concepts, designs, and processes; and participate in the patent filing process. Candidate will also lead the process transfer from development to production.
The Process Development Engineer role requires a deep technical knowledge of electro-mechanical assembly, thermal processes especially on wafer bonding, die and component attach, metallurgy chemistry, DFM and problem solving of process, product and material variation. Mechanical or material science engineers that will participate in the planning and manufacturing of new products by performing engineering duties and developing, designing and testing sensors and detector devices. Job requirements include either a Bachelor of Science in mechanical, material science or electro mechanical engineering, a master of science in engineering, or a related degree are recommended but not required. Any specific industry-related certifications are encouraged but not required.
You will participate in the planning and manufacturing of new products by performing engineering duties and developing, designing and testing sensors and detector devices. Job requirements include either a Bachelor of Science in mechanical, material science or bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field (Physics, Optics, etc.). Advanced degree desirable. Electromechanical engineering, a Master of Science in engineering, or a related degree are recommended but not required. Any specific industry-related certifications are encouraged but not required. You will develop and maintain cleanroom process mentality from bare wafer to final die, including wafer to wafer bonding, AR Coating process familiarity is added advantage, MEMS Processing: wet and dry etching, ultrasonic drilling, fundamental understanding with metal deposition, wet and dry etching, singulation and characterization, assembly processing: pick and place, die attach, wire bonding, encapsulation, package sealing. You will identify and analyse any process deficiencies and recommend corrective actions. Working together with development partner vendors, develop tools and processes for successful implementation of new optical assemblies and supports the ongoing production of optical assemblies using process engineering skills.
Candidate must possess at least Bachelor's Degree/Post Graduate Diploma/Professional Degree in Engineering (Computer/Telecommunication), Engineering (Electrical/Electronic), Engineering (Industrial), Engineering (Mechanical) or equivalent.
At least 5 Year(s) of working experience in the electronics manufacturing industry, with key role in process development
Broad knowledge of assembly and manufacturing processes, experience in troubleshooting electro- mechanical assemblies is required.
Proficiency with SolidWorks or other CAD software, optical modelling software such as Zemax, Code V, FRED, and SPC is desirable.
Experience with optical alignment and bonding, structured problem solving tools (8D, DMAIC, etc) is desirable
