The Covid-19 Pandemic
COVID-19 is an infectious disease caused by a newly discovered coronavirus. To date it has claimed over hundred of thousand lives worldwide and has infected over a million of people. Older people and those with underlying medical problems who are infected with the virus are likely to develop into serious illness.
The COVID-19 virus spreads primarily through droplets of saliva or discharge from the nose when an infected person coughs or sneezes. There is currently no specific vaccines or treatments for COVID-19.

Corporate Social Responsibility
T-SMART is taking several actions to protect the health and well-being of our employees and partners to control the spread of COVID-19 (coronavirus) in accordance with the government and local public health authority's guidance on managing the risk of COVID-19.
-
All employees are taking their body temperature as a precautionary measure to reduce the spread of COVID-19.
-
A guideline of proper handwashing and hygiene procedure is enforced.
-
T-SMART put in place measures to reduce close physical interactions amongst our employees by implementing work from home scheme.
-
For employees undertaking job roles or functions where telecommuting is not feasible, we reduce duration and proximity of physical interactions by implementing physical spacing (of at least one meter apart) between workstations. If there is a need for physical meetings, the number of attendees is limited, and the duration shortened. Seats in meeting rooms is also spaced at least a meter apart.

Protect Yourself and Others From Infection

1) Wash your hands frequently
Regularly and thoroughly clean your hands with an alcohol-based hand rub or wash them with soap and water. Washing your hands with soap and water or using alcohol-based hand rub kills viruses that may be on your hands.

2) Maintain social distancing
Maintain at least 1 metre distance between yourself and others when in public. When someone coughs or sneezes, they spray small liquid droplets from their nose or mouth which may contain virus. If you are too close, you can breathe in the droplets, including the COVID-19 virus if the person coughing has the disease.

3) Be better protected
Protect yourself and others by wearing a facemask if you must go out of your home. Other protective equipment are available especially for those working in the healthcare frontlines.
